When Little Worlds Collide

2016

The Hand points toward the last rays of the summer solstice evening. The Moon Globe is collaged from James Nasmyth’s and James Carpenter’s 19th-century plaster made lunar photographs, surrounded by black waves painted across the walls. Together, the elements form a constellation of symbols that reflect on the state of the contemporary world. The work title is borrowed from Black Sabbath’s National Acrobat.
