Timo Aho (b. 1980) is a Helsinki-based visual artist working at the intersection of sculpture, installation, and site-specific art. Using light, sound, and air, he creates multisensory experiences that respond to space, lighting conditions, and natural processes. His work focuses on how human-made environments, societal structures, and natural processes intertwine, and how perception shapes the way we experience our surroundings. Aho holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki (2021) and a BA from the Glasgow School of Art (2016). His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and Ars Electronica. In 2024, he was awarded the William Thuring Designated Prize by the Finnish Art Society.
