Y (Floating)

2024

Y (Floating) is an experimental two-channel video installation by Timo Aho. In the installation the river is harnessed to function as its own cinematographer, freely guiding the camera drift within its surface. The work reveals something about the nature of a flowing river and its agency. It captures both the bottom of the river and the canopy above it in motion. The work seeks to study and expand our perception of the more-than-human world.
